[ARCHIVED] Sandbag Information - Updated 5/30/19

Emergency Management

The Chaffee County Office of Emergency Management, Road and Bridge and Fairgrounds have established a free, public sandbag filling station at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds located at 10165 County Road 120. Residents are able to fill sandbags at their leisure 24 hours a day. Residents should use the west entrance, which has yellow gates; just inside of the gates, there is a pile of sand, a bucket with empty sandbags in it, and shovels all provided on-site.

The Town of Buena Vista has also set up a sandbag filling station for the north end of the county at the Buena Vista Public Works building located at 755 Gregg Drive. The filling station is available 24 hours a day inside of the public works yard. All supplies are available on-site; look for signs pointing to the filling area. Please use caution when entering and exiting the yard as there is a lot of heavy machinery in use in the area. Please call 719-395-6898 for more information.
