Gold Rush Days

burros

August 12 - 13, 2017

Celebrating Buena Vista's Old West and mining heritage, Gold Rush Days has been a
town signature event since 1980. Live music, blacksmith demonstrations, the rubber
ducky race, kids train, and a variety of vendors are just some of the attractions. There's
fun for all ages. Highlights of the two-day event include the burro race, complete with
packs of mining equipment, and the reenactment of a gunfight at the historic Lariat Bar.
Both Main Street and McPhelemy Park are the scenes of most of the events, so be sure
to join the fun at both venues, just steps away from each other.
