APE Fun Run
Once a month throughout the school year, local kids gather at Avery Parsons Elementary with their friends and family to run or walk one mile . It’s an awesome way to stay in shape and promote wellness throughout the community! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, no matter what school you go to or what age you are- we’d love to see you come out to support BV REC, Boys and Girls Club, and APE!
Bike Library
Want to ride to school but you don't have a bike? BV REC can help! Call us for more information on how to rent a bike from our brand new bike library!

Who needs horses when we have bikes? Come on down and join us for this crazy fun event- just bring your bike, the rest of the equipment will be provided!
Bridge Club
Join us for bridge every Thursday from 1pm-5pm. The Club meets at the Community Center.
Jiu Jitsu and Open Mat
Jiu Jitsu Basics and Open Mat is an hour long class that seeks to teach basic grappling positioning and submissions for the first half of class. The second half of class will be open mat time, during which you are free to grapple with other students, or work on something of your own choosing. We will mostly practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but some grappling/throwing techniques from Karate may also be incorporated. This class has a relaxed and fun atmosphere. A Gi (uniform) is not necessary.
Martial Arts
In this class, Kyokushin Karate will be our primary focus, with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu being blended into our training in order to provide a well-rounded self-defense system. Additionally, you will learn a few throws and takedowns which are taken from Judo and Wrestling. We will practice Kihon (basics) Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). Strength, conditioning, and overall fitness is another significant aspect of this class. In addition to learning how to effectively defend yourself, you will become much stronger both physically and mentally.

Monday Morning Art

Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, or artist, bring your projects to the Community Center and socialize while you work. Share your expertise or receive guidance and support from other participants!

This game mixes badminton, tennis, and ping pong skills creating a fun, active, low-impact environment for individuals of all ages and athletic background! No experience necessary, we’ll teach you when you show up. It’s easy to learn and you won’t regret it- it’s a blast!
PiYo - 6

A combination of Pilates and Yoga, this new activity will help you stretch and strengthen your entire body! PiYo allows you to move at a decent tempo from one pose to another!
BV REC is partnering with the Rocky Mountain Racquet Club to offer drop in tennis! This is perfect for someone who doesn't have much time, wants another opportunity to play during the winter, hasn't played for some time, or even the beginners out there who haven't ever played! It'll be a good chance to get in some activity during these snowy winter months and to prepare for outdoor play this summer!

Women's Cardio Kickboxing
This is a strength and conditioning class for women, with the primary goal being that of fitness. You will learn proper striking techniques which will allow you to employ your hands, feet, knees, and elbows into various striking combinations which when paired with calisthenics will result in a fun, exhausting, and rewarding workout.

Young at Heart
Young at Heart is a group for ages 55+. We meet at noon on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Community Center. Each meeting includes a potluck lunch followed by a program with informative speakers.
